Your Summer Assignment:

1.      Write a two-page essay on each of the three books you are reading during the summer.

Take into account, as you write your essay, the questions on the back of this page.  Use this to help you write your essay.

Do not write just a summary of the book.  Write your own essay.  Be sure to include in your essay your answer to Question #10: What lesson did I learn from, reading this book? This should be your concluding paragraph.

This will be collected by your teacher on the first full day of school,  September 12.  Your three assignments will be included in the first Marking Period.

Do not wait to the last week of the summer to do these assignments.  Space them out so that you can enjoy your reading.

Questions to ask yourself while you are reading?

2.    What problems or conflicts does the main character face?
3.    How do the actions of the other characters affect the main character?
4.    How does the plot affect the main characters?
5.    Is there an antagonist, or someone who tries to prevent good from happening to the main character (good guy vs. bad guy)?
